No One Should Be Without Shelter This Winter

We operate a transitional shelter for our clients throughout the year. That shelter is oriented toward helping people who want to change their lives. To stay in the shelter, you need to be drug and alcohol free (with an exception for cannabis). You also have to work with a caseworker and complete 15 hours of work toward your long-term goals.

There are many who are too deep in their addictions to follow these rules. They are lost and addicted and they dont deserve to die. That is why we operate a low-barrier shelter which is open to everyone who needs shelter, even those who are actively intoxicated. Low-barrier shelter saves lives every winter from freezing deaths.

Right now, our transitional shelter is fully staffed and running year-round. But when the winter winds hit, we also need to open our low-barrier shelter—a place where anyone can come inside, no questions asked, and simply be safe from the cold.

Here’s the challenge: we don’t have enough staff to open the low-barrier shelter this year.
To do it, we need to hire one additional staff member before the end of October.

The cost of that one position is $1,936 per month! This month, we are working on a big push to raise more monthly support to cover that position! Your monthly contribution will help save lives. I will be starting my job interviews and background checks on faith that the support we need will come through.

How You Can Help

The best way to support this work is to become a monthly donor. Steady monthly giving allows us to plan ahead and keep our doors open every single night of the winter.

Every gift matters—large or small, monthly or one-time. If monthly giving isn’t possible for you, a one-time donation will help us reach our immediate goal so we can hire the staff member before winter hits.

Together, We Can Keep the Shelter Open

Our community is strongest when we take care of one another. By joining this campaign, you’re not only helping us meet payroll—you’re literally saving lives this winter.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor today, or making a one-time gift toward our $1,936 goal. With your help, we can open the low-barrier shelter before the cold sets in.
